BOISE, Idaho (CBS 2) — With the high price of living in the Gem State, the Idaho Humane Society says pets are now being affected.
“In the last three years, we have noticed a stark increase of animal surrenders to our shelter, because of housing situations or people moving out of the area, that can no longer keep their pets,” said Kristine Schellhaas with the Idaho Humane Society.
Some months, staff members say owner surrenders make up more than half of animals brought in.
