Over 40 at-risk shelter dogs flown to Boise from Louisiana

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The runway at the Boise Airport welcomed some new Idaho residents today.

“Once we get these animals back to our intake shelter we will check them out. If they have been spayed and neutered they will be on our adoption floor pretty soon. And if they need any other veterinary care we will provide that first,” Laurien Mavey with the Idaho Humane Society said. The Idaho Humane Society is valued in transfers like these because they are able to perform surgeries on animals that need it. “On this flight in particular we have a dog that has a broken leg and a broken tail. So we were able to take them in because we have the resources to do that,” Mavey said.
