BOISE – The Idaho Humane Society shared the incredible story of Cooper, a cat who went missing 10 years ago and was just reunited with his mom. All thanks to his microchip.
Cooper recently came them as an owner surrender, was scanned for a microchip, and they found he had been reported as lost in 2015. The people who surrendered Cooper found him shortly after he escaped from his home. They began feeding him but didn’t think to check for a microchip.
The Idaho Humane Society says this story is a powerful reminder of why microchipping your pets is so important. Even after a decade, it led Cooper back home. If you find a stray pet, please get them scanned for microchips and microchip your pets. Read more…
