Cheatgrass: What pet owners need to know this summer

BOISE, Idaho — The same cheatgrass that clings to hikers’ socks and dogs’ fur throughout the Boise Foothills can pose a serious health risk to pets once it dries out.

Cheatgrass, an invasive noxious weed common across southern Idaho, becomes especially hazardous during the summer as its seed heads dry and develop sharp, barbed tips that easily attach to people and animals. Read more…
