- About Us
If you can no longer care for your pet and you live in Ada County, you can relinquish it to the Idaho Humane Society at any time – we are an open-admission facility, which means we will never turn a pet away. If you have a dog and live outside of Ada County, you may relinquish your dog to our shelter. If you own a cat, we will take owner-surrendered cats on a case-by-case basis depending on space available. Although we can never make any guarantees, we certainly do our best to find new, loving homes for animals turned over to the shelter.
Please visit our Dorman Campus located at 4775 W Dorman Street, Boise, Idaho 83709.
We are open from 8am to 6pm seven days a week, and you do not need to make an appointment.
Please note that we offer resources to help pet owners struggling to pay for medical care or pet food so that they don’t have to relinquish their animals. If you have any questions about those programs, please email [email protected]
If you are experiencing behavior problems with your pet and would like to speak with a certified trainer about resources and solutions please email our Behavior Department at [email protected]
