Girl Scouts

Scout Hour: Educational Presentation and Tour with our Humane Educator

Location: 1300 S. Bird Street in Boise. Enter at the Education Center (north end of the building)​

Length of Tour: 1 to 1.5 hours

  • Brief Discussion based on questions and interest
  • Education Presentation which includes overview of IHS, safety (to include shelter rules), and respectfully approaching animals.
  • Tour of the facility to include cattery, dog kennels, and small animal room.
    Follow up of questions/answers.
  • Tours will accommodate each group’s needs and we will work with you to determine the best fit for your goals and outcomes.

Girl Scout Patch: The Idaho Humane Society has partnered with Silver Sage Girl Scouts to create an Idaho Humane Society patch. Girls will learn about pet responsibility, animal safety, and complete projects for shelter pets while earning their new patch.

Patches cost $5 per girl and are available for purchase through the shelter.

Interested troop leaders should contact [email protected] to receive their patchwork packet and get started!

Eagle Scouts/Gold Award Projects

We are happy to work with Scouts in need of projects. If you are a Scout and are interested in partnering with IHS, please complete the following form, and our education coordinator will reach out to you.
