The Treasure Valley is ready to celebrate man’s best friend during the Dog Days of Summer Celebration at First Thursday. JUMP is hosting this pawsome extravaganza where adults, children of all ages, and four-legged friends are welcome to join in on the fun.
The event is from 5:00pm-9:00pm and will feature a number of pet-related events including a dog contest! White Dog Brewery will be on hand with tasty samples and beverages and the slide will be open from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Supporters are encouraged to bring pet food to donate to the Pet Food Pantry which a safety net program, designed to provide resources primarily to struggling pet owners.
The community can participate in a number of activities the day of the event:
- Make pet treats and create toys for shelter animals or their furry friends at home
- Meet adoptable dogs
- Learn how to care for pets
- Register for See Spot Walk which takes place on October 5th
- Enter their dog in a “Bust a move and wag your tail” contest
- Visit the Balanced Behavior dog training table for tips on canine training
- Earn a special prize for donating canned or dry pet food for IHS’s Pet Food Panty and Meals on Wheels Pet Program (canned food for cats and dogs and dry cat food is especially helpful)
