Labrador Retriever mix Neutered Male 10 months 90 pounds

Bear is a 10 month old puppy and like many of our new dogs, he is rather overwhelmed at the shelter which makes him anxious. He can be difficult to get out of his kennel but once he is out he will walk right next to you. He really likes being close to people, especially when he is feeling nervous and out of his depth. According to the vet, Bear is 15 to 20 pounds overweight and daily walks or hikes that are easy on his joints will help take off those pounds. After he is at a more normal weight his energy level will increase and he may make a good walking, running or hiking companion. Bear likes to fetch a soft toy so games of fetch may be a fun activity for you both. Bear will need to live inside with his family so that he can soak up all the love and guidance. Training would be terrific and he is at the prime age to learn new tricks and skills. Walks around the neighborhood whenever possible with gentle exposure to new sounds and people will help him learn that this new world is not scary. Also, this will help strengthen the bond. Bear is a keeper and is going to be a wonderful companion to some lucky people who come see him and take him home!
